During Gaga’s visit to MTV studios last week, she spoke about her highly buzzed collaboration with the pop icon. Gaga explained that “The Greatest Thing” was a track she was holding onto for a while now, because it never fit any of her album concepts. She states that “Cher heard the song and loved it and wanted to do it together, and I said, ‘Fuck yeah, it’s Cher!’”

The track will be released sometime in September and is featured on Cher’s upcoming album, due out later this year.
