Lady Gaga has announced that she is officially engaged with long time boyfriend and actor Taylor Kinney. According to the Times Herald-Record, the two announced the engagement at Joanne's (Gaga's family's restaraunt in New York) last Saturday -- Valentine's Day.
I heard the singer say "it was time" as she flashed the ring around. Family members said the pair had been going out for about four years. Gaga and Kinney were accompanied by two massive bodyguards, one located by Gaga, the other near the entrance to the main dining room. Her father, Joe Germanotta, who owns the restaurant with chef and author Art Smith, popped open a bottle of champagne to toast the couple and welcome Kinney into the family. Kinney, standing, seemed a bit embarrassed as they talked about trying to find the right ring and time to give it to her. About half-hour later the bodyguard nearest to us started talking at his wrist and putting on his coat, as Gaga and Kinney, followed by family and friends, began to make their way out of the restaurant.
