On Wednesday night, the king of jazz and 91-year old Tony Bennett was recognized with the prestigious Gershwin Prize for American Song in a concert at D.A.R. Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. for his admirable career throughout the years.
Before receiving the award and acknowledging Lena Horne was his all-time fav collab, Tony hit the red carpet to reflect on his prolific career by confirming he's going to do a new song with Lady Gaga, with whom has collaborated in 2014 with their number one and Grammy Award-winning album 'Cheek To Cheek.' "I'm definitely going to do another song with Lady Gaga -- New Year's Eve," he said; When asked what he was going to do, he quipped, “Make a lot of money!”
During the ceremony, Tony himself took the stage, crooning his signature song “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and saluting the Gershwins with “Our Love is Here to Stay.” Other performers included Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Lukas Nelson, Michael Bublé, and others. Tony Bennett has sold 10 million albums, has won 19 Grammys including Album of the year in 1995 for MTV Unplugged, 'Duets,' 'Duets II' in 2006 and 2011 respectively without forgetting 'Cheek To Cheek.'
