Lady Gaga has teamed up with the World Health Organization and Global Citizen for a global online special called One World: 'Together at Home', airing live on April 18th in support of healthcare workers in the fight against pandemic virus COVID-19.
During a press conference held on Monday, Gaga called to announce she curated the two-hour musical event and helped raised in less than 7 days, $35 million from a mixture of philanthropic and corporate donations who took part in it.
"It is so important to think globally and support the World Health Organization to curb the pandemic and prevent future outbreaks," she said. "We want to highlight the gravity of this historical, unprecedented, and cultural movement." Gaga also highlighted that "we are all so very grateful to all of the health care professionals across the country and around the world, who are on the frontlines during COVID-19... What you are doing is putting yourselves in harm's way to help the world and we all salute you."
The event will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon of ‘The Tonight Show,’ Jimmy Kimmel of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and Stephen Colbert of ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,’ and the lineup of artists and public figures who will be joining Gaga on the event are Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Sir Elton John, Finneas, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan, and Stevie Wonder.
One World: 'Together at Home', will air simultaneously at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on ABC, NBC, CBS and will be streamed live Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Instagram, Tidal, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo, and YouTube. Check out Gaga's message at the WHO press conference.
