Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia talked to Good Morning America's
correspondent Juju Chang about their Born This Way Foundation's new book
'CHANNEL KINDNESS: Stories of Kindness and Community., a book made from
collected stories from young reporters about the small and big acts of
kindness that have the power to change someone’s day.
"Be Kind to yourself. You don't have to focus on what's wrong with us when
we can choose to embrace what's right with us" "This book is about the power
of that kindness to tell your own story, to inspire someone, to help them to
feel less alone," Gaga said in the interview.
When asked why kindness is difficult for some to embrace, Mother Monster
said she feels, "sometimes people maybe exist in a negative space and is
actually what my story on this book is about."
Mrs. G spoke about the benefit of giving young change-makers a place to
share their stories: "When you give them a platform, you will see them rise
up and be incredibly strong and share their brilliance," she said.
"Im very proud of my daughter for having the courage to share her story,
because it helped validate the emotions of other young people," Cynthia
mentioned about Gaga being opened with her sexual assault surviving
experience, living with PTSD, and other traumas in her life.
