Nick Knight and Lady Gaga opened the next chapter in their decade-long, prolific working relationship to create an artistic universe for the prestigious French champagne house Dom Pérignon, collaborating on a series of spellbinding images. The minute-long video features Lady Gaga's ''Free Woman'' from her latest album Chromatica.
Gaga is consecrated as queen in a series of outfits that appear to shimmer and glitch, styled by Nicola Formichetti, as she clutches a bottle of Dom Pérignon ready to welcome all of her Little Monsters into The Queendom: the world where she and Dom Pérignon’s meeting ignites into existence, with a celebration of creativity with Lady Gaga as the radiant, spectacular Queen and Dom Pérignon, by her side, a symbol of shared inspiration, by taking the world as her own.
"Their tradition is centuries old but they push their own boundaries and find ways to reinvent themselves completely and I am thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this together." - Lady Gaga
Gaga, Knight, and Lloyd present a modern fairytale, where creative freedom is power. Following that creative freedom, a Limited-Edition Sculpture by Lady Gaga for Dom Pérignon and produced in 110 exclusive pieces, will be sold in private sales and showcased in flagship Dom Pérignon locations with a cost of €40,000 or its equivalence to $47,603 with all the profits donated to the Born This Way Foundation.
Alongside the sculpture, Dom Pérignon paid 7 million dollars for the fashion film created by Knight. The goal was to “create a burst of positive fantasy, a beautiful world that exists only in people's imaginations. Fantasy is such an important part of our lives; it makes us dram and fuels our creativity. And right now, the world needs celebration”. Knight added that he “wanted to create something which would touch people across many different cultures, for its joie de vivre, it's rush of fantasy and celebratory visions”.
