Speaking about the album in Gaga’s recent interview with Consequence, the pop icon cited everything from ‘90s grunge to 2000s pop to funk as influences. “I’m embracing all of these things about myself, all of these contradictions, all of these genres that may not seemingly make any sense together,” she said. “They were all put in a blender and put into one piece of music. It’s like an opera of everything that makes me who I am.”
Mayhem was mostly met with praise upon its release, with several critics highlighting it as a return to form for Gaga.[41] According to the review aggregator Metacritic, Mayhem received "universal acclaim" based on a weighted average score of 85 out of 100 from 12 critic scores.[8] It became the highest-rated album of her career.
Mayhem is now available across all major streaming platforms and for purchase in both digital and physical formats. Fans and new listeners alike are invited to experience this latest chapter in Lady Gaga's musical journey.
